Hubsan Zino 2 vs. Zino 2 PLUS: Ultimate Showdown

Let’s see how Hubsan’s top two-selling drones, Zino 2 and Zino 2 PLUS, fare against each other on parameters like battery life, camera quality, flight modes, and others.

Flight Time

I’ll be frank here. There’s nothing much to differentiate Zino 2 (approx. 33 minutes) and Zino 2 PLUS (approx. 35 minutes) in terms of flight time.

As you can see, all you get is just an extra couple of minutes in Zino 2 PLUS because of its more efficient battery system, which makes it discharge at a more constant rate.

This extended flight time in Zino 2 Plus, thus, makes it the winner here.

Winner: Zino 2 PLUS

Camera Quality

I find the camera setup of both the Zino 2 and Zino 2 PLUS quite impressive for their price. Kudos to Hubsan for that!

Not only do you get a powerful UHD 4K Sony 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor with an impressive f/2.2 aperture capable of recording at a stunning 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160, but extra smooth footage at 30 and 60 frames per second, too.

But Zino 2 PLUS gets a brownie point for me for its pro-level low-light video recording, something Zino 2 lacks.

Winner: Tie

Flight Modes

Coming to the flight modes, Zino 2 PLUS is a clear winner, with a total of ten different built-in modes in its arsenal. Zino 2, on the other hand, has just the basic seven.

The following table summarizes the complete list of flight modes in these quadcopters from Hubsan:

Winner: Zino 2 PLUS

Operational Range

The operational range of Zino 2 and Zino 2 PLUS differs by just a kilometer!

I’m not kidding.

The Hubsan Zino 2 Plus offers an extended range of 9 km compared to the 8 km range of the predecessor Zino 2.

If you’re looking for a drone that can fly farther and longer, the Zino 2 Plus is, thus, a superior choice.

Winner: Zino 2 PLUS

Durability

Last but not least, let’s talk about the durability of these palm-sized drones.

Although both Zino 2 and Zino 2 PLUS are made of lightweight plastic shells, the latter makes a better investment due to its stronger motors, reinforced propellers, and damage-resistant design.

But this doesn’t mean you’ll lose your Zino 2 soon after the first crash, as it also has decent protection against minor impacts.

Winner: Zino 2 PLUS

Hubsan Zino 2 vs. Zino 2 PLUS: FAQs

Hubsan Zino 2 PLUS comes with a transmission range of 9 km

The 3800 mAh smart LiPo battery of Hubsan Zino 2 delivers a flight time of 33 minutes in windless conditions

If I had to pick one between Zino 2 and Zino 2 PLUS for aerial photography, it would be Zino 2 PLUS on any day.

It has a slightly longer flight time of 35 minutes, a transmission range of 9 km, and is relatively superior in camera capabilities.

Conclusion

The Hubsan Zino 2 PLUS stands out as the superior choice with its enhanced camera capabilities, including better low-light performance, making it ideal for capturing high-quality aerial footage. But this comes at a cost!

If you’re a general consumer and don’t need these pro features, the more economical Hubsan Zino 2 is what you must get.
